wow, I really like how you make it build by preserving the choral vocals for the second and third chorus.
is that a very comfortable key for you? you do a great job with that low voice, I guess you've always been a baritone now that I think of it.
you handled a lot of those tricky words a lot better than I could, like "serpriz'd", and "reeee-al-i-teeee"
this is way enjoyable, I like the congruence of the instruments, the old-fashioned tones worked really well. the sound is great all-around, especially the way your voice fits in, it's perfect, you've got killer pipes dude.
there's this huge thing in the chorus that came up completely by accident, where, on one chorus, every voice comes in ont he off beat. I always imagined what it would've sounded like to do it one very one, and, now hearing, it, it has a really cool stinger effect.

Great take on a great song. I love the way this builds, and I love the low register you're delivering in. Sounds a little different for you, I think, but very cool.
Also, great choice of keyboard sounds. That rhodes-souding thing is awesome.
Freaking awesome layering of vocals you build up to in the bridge! Great work.

Man... I was gonna do a whole entire Depeche Mode treatment - but I decided not to. I went vintage. Rhodes and B3 for the keys, and an ARP2600 for the bass. I kept it minimal. I used some 50s and 60s drum kit sounds. I hope you like it.

Dude..... here you go, a musical statement. I'm getting a little Talking Heads. Oh Damn....... you should had me lay down some lines. I hear a few rough edges - but I'm a digging this sketch track, and with a little polish, this will be kickin'.

You know, if Depeche Mode were to put out something like this...hmmn. Yeah, see what happens when you develop the upper register, you get this great low effortless bari. (note to self, sing more!) Yeah the keys sound  as hell.
